Father

long-page-break.png

            has he taught me
not
            but cold
& static silence

            The lower back
on the side of the father
            christened in the father's hands

My blood too red for my father
has he taught me
            warmth

            Lower back, birth
place of triangle bone, thickest
            nerve in the body

            Compromised & pinched
spills money like love
lost, my father says, he says
            says I love you, sometimes

            He says, my father says
you fractured all my dreams
            leaves a birth
of tears along the walk way

            He says, says, water means
nothing
            You did not learn this
            ache from me.
