Give up yours, gasping.
Holy.

Through the ventilators
we get high.
The upstairs neighbors
buy quality.

Man washes down
his cream pick-up,
ghost pepper half-bit
in his flannel pocket.

Ladies’ tire pressure
gets checked by mechanics
when temperatures drop.

Afternoon and all
our porch lights on still.
On stoops, we teach ourselves
lessons in matches.
